Healthy lifestyle habits can help prevent depression, or lessen the chances of it happening again.
For elderly or others who feel socially isolated or lonely, try volunteering or getting involved in group activities.
Counseling may help teens deal with periods of low mood.
Open communication with your teen can help identify depression earlier.

Home Remedies for Depression

Take 2 cardamoms and powder their seeds. In 1 cup boiling water, add these powdered cardamom seeds. Put sugar for taste and drink it twice a day.
Cashew nuts are extremely beneficial in treating depression, as it is a rich source of vitamins of B group and thus they aid in stimulating the appetite. It ensures body activeness and energy levels.
Get plenty of sleep and don't stay up late being idle. Sleep greatly improves or worsens my symptoms depending on the amount. Late at night is the worst time, especially if you are alone.
Eat a lot of pumpkin seeds.
A neutral immersion bath for one hour daily is also helpful in the treatment of depression.
Diet has a profound effect on the treatment of depression. So, the diet of a depressed person should be well balanced as the single nutritional deficiency can aggravate the situation.
